CarCheckTools relies on public databases, including the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) API, to decode VINs and retrieve recall information. We do not store or track the individual VINs you search. Queries are passed securely and ephemerally.

2. DPPA Compliance

Any license plate lookups or vehicle history checks provided through third-party partners comply with the Driver's Privacy Protection Act (DPPA). We do not access, process, or display personal identifying information (PII) of vehicle owners.

3. Cookies & Analytics

We use minimal, privacy-friendly analytics and cookies to understand traffic patterns and ensure platform stability. We do not sell your data to advertisers.
